Exoplanet Transit Database

Is now an integral part of VarAstro, a portal for publication and sharing photometric observations of variable stars and exoplanetary transits.

The list of exoplanets in the database can be found in the exoplanet catalog. The list of transits relevant for a specific exoplanet can then be found in the exoplanet details.

Photometric data capturing exoplanetary transits can be uploaded using upload form, which can be accessed from the main menu or the user menu (top right).

All observations share the same database - when uploading the data, it is not directly distinguished whether it is an observation of a brightness change of a eclipsing binary or an exoplanetary transit. The photometric data are always linked to the specific star, not the exoplanet, when uploading.

For example, if we have data from transit of the planet WASP-43 b, we upload them to its parent star, i.e. WASP-43. The pairing with a specific exoplanet is then done when the user completes the model fitting procedure for a specific transit.

The VarAstro application contains similar tools that were available in the original version of ETD.

For example, for each exoplanet, there is available graphical output of relations:

  • transit TIMINGS vs. EPOCH
  • transit DURATION vs. EPOCH
  • transit DEPTH vs. EPOCH
